Regularly clean your kitchen with household cleaners containing bleach or hydrogen peroxide. You can use any cleaning solution with 70 percent or more alcohol content to clean kitchen surfaces and cabinets.

Place the sponge in the dishwasher with a high temperature or make it wet and place it in the microwave for 1–2 minutes. After every use keep it in a place that allows it to air dry.

5. Keep Cutting board clean

Use a separate cutting board to cut fruits and vegetables and raw meat. This will avoid cross-contamination and the possible spread of salmonella, E. coli, and other harmful bacteria. Also, make it a habit to clean it with hot water and soap before and after use.

6. Frequently Wash Bed Sheets, Towels

Many households do not wash very often bed sheets, towels, or reusable kitchen napkins. Keeping the COVID-19 situation, it is advisable to wash them at least once a week.

7. Sterilize with hot water Toys, Utensils, and Bottles for Children

Initially, it was thought kids would be spared by this virus, but then recent reports prove us wrong. In addition to wiping and cleaning their stuff, take additional measures like sterilizing their toys and clothes to avoid an infection.

8. According to a study published in Travel Medicine and Infectious Disease, mobile phones could be acting as “Trojan horses” for COVID-19. The research found that 68 percent of the phones sampled in these studies were contaminated. The authors of the review believe that SARS-Cov-2 could be on any of those touch-screen and electronic devices.

Phones: First clean your phone with a soft slightly damp microfiber cloth and then clean it with disinfectant wipes.

Laptop: Disconnect power cable, then use microfiber handkerchief with the alcohol-based disinfectant and carefully clean all external surfaces starting with the screen. Gently wipe in the same direction. Take extra care to prevent water from falling onto the keyboard or USB ports. Clean the screen again with a glass cleaner.

Please note:

Washing your hands very often with harsh detergents can dehydrate the skin and increase the chances of skin infections. It is good to use a moisturizer after cleansing the hands with soap or sanitizer.
