COVID 19 Resources for Indians: Hospital, Helpline, Food and More

With Indians grappling with COVID from North to South, several  IT firms, tech experts, social media channels have created information repositories to help people connect with the right services and standard operating procedures around Covid-19.

All this information is now available across different channels, news platforms, and websites. I am just trying to combine all these resources into one blog (as much as possible) so that people don’t have to spend a lot of time searching for hospitals, food, plasma, and medicine online.

1. Covid India Resources

This website provides resources on, ICU beds, Oxygen, Plasma, Doctors on call, and other services. Currently, this site provides verified data from the following states: Delhi, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Goa, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and West Bengal. 

2. Covid Resources

This site created by Faraz Iqbal and the team provides details on plasma donation resources, Tocilizumab Distributor List, mental health resources, and more. They also provide links to Delhi Govt’s Website for Bed Availability.

3. Covid Resources Wall

This site list together with all the resources and tools one needs to fight COVID. You can find here the Remdesivir Distribution list, Oxygen suppliers at the home list, Blood bank, and more.

4. Covid Aid Resources (Instagram page)

This Instagram page is providing information on plasma donors, oxygen, ambulance services, home care services, hospital beds, etc in selected cities across India.

5. Covid Resources Directory (Coordinated by Karnataka Govt)

If you are from Karnataka, for leads on ambulance, oxygen, vaccination, ICU beds you can visit this site. This site is crowd-sourced by many NGOs and Volunteers.

6. Covid 911 (Instagram page)

This page helps people in getting information on the availability of medicines like Remdesivir, Fabiflu, oxygen supply, especially across Delhi, Indore, Lucknow.

7. Covid Resources

This site provides information on the availability of beds, oxygen, plasma. People can select their city and navigate based on their specific needs. This platform pulls up relevant tweets from Twitter based on city and COVID resource need.

8. CoVeri

This platform allows the user to search for a drug or bed availability based on a city. This query then directs the user to the Twitter platform and displays the exact results.

9. Govt of India COVID information resource

This site maintained by the Govt of India gives details on the total number of active cases, the number of people vaccinated mortality rate and provides guidelines and protocol updates.

10. National Centre for Disease Control

Another Govt of India site to get details on COVID protocols, guidelines and training materials

11. COVID Gyan

During COVID it’s essential we read the correct information about COVID management. The content in this site is created by public supported research institutions in India and associated programs.

12. Covid Helpline for Bangalore

This platform for Bangalore people is initiated by Ameen e Mudassar and the team. Clicking on bed availability or drug and oxygen availability gives the user access to a document that has the list of service providers or hospitals with their phone numbers.

13. COVID-19 Help Database

This is a list of Google spreadsheet listing details of ambulance service, hospital beds, ICU availability, doctors, and more.

Food for COVID patients

Being down with COVID or not able to cook, please check these sites to place your food order. Some are paid, whereas some are giving food for free.

1. CovidMealsforIndia

CovidMealsforIndia has been created by Chef Saransh Goila along with Fastor. This site lists home chefs, volunteers, tiffin services, and delivery kitchens across India.

2. Seher

Seher is an initiative by Ankita Sahay, a young corporate executive from Bangalore. A set of good samaritan women are supporting her to make free food delivery possible across Bangalore. One could WhatsApp her at 6361743891 in case they are down with COVID, recovering, or are elders all alone at home and need home food.

3. Mission Chai

Mission Chai owned, operated, and run by Seema Nayyar offers home-cooked vegetarian meals to quarantined Covid positive patients in Bangalore. The meals are free of cost but one needs to bear the cost of delivery through Dunzo. 

3. Home-cooked food during Covid times in Chennai

This article by Indian express lists the details of food providers from Chennai which delivers food for COVID patients.
