Chiropractic is a drug-free, non-invasive alternative therapy applied to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints. It mainly focuses on the spine and other joints of the body. Although spinal manipulation dates back to Hippocrates and the ancient Greek physicians, the discovery of chiropractic is attributed to D.D. Palmer in 1895. The word “chiropractic” means “to be done by hand” originated with Palmer and was coined by a patient, the Reverend Samuel H. Weed. Despite significant opposition over the years from allopathic or conventional medicine, chiropractic is very much prevalent.
